When it comes to interior design, I would say I struggle a bit. I know what I love in a finished space and can visualize what I want, but when it comes to actually bringing that vision to life, i have no clue where to even start! Knowing what to buy, which pieces will look good together, and where to put what requires a special set of skills.
My best friend Mary has been the person I’ve always consulted with when it comes to making my house a home. When I started dreaming about this baby’s nursery, I knew I needed her help to bring it to life. Mary and her sister Kim just recently started an interior styling business where they are passionate about thoughtfully styling spaces with creativity, and I got to be one of their first clients! I was so excited to work on this project with them. Check out their Instagram handle: @_heynancy_ to learn more about the services they provide!
They made the process so easy. I shared with them my vision of what I wanted the baby’s nursery to look like and shared pictures as well. I gave them my budget for the room and from there they took it and ran! What a dream for someone who gets stressed out by interior design (aka me). Within two weeks of sharing with them, they sent a proposal to me which included a floor plan and links to all of the items they were suggesting to create the space. I can’t begin to tell you how much stress that took off my plate!!
So. Here’s where we started: The room had basically become the place where I dumped all of the things Jonas didn’t use/fit in anymore. As you can see, it was quite the mess.
Here’s what my vision was for the room: I wanted a space that was white/bright, simple, and not too busy (less is more philosophy). I wanted some touches of green but mostly just neutral tones.
So…. drum roll please…. here’s what @_heynancy_ came up with for me (that I’m absolutely in LOVE with!).
I love the soft glow that the lamp provides at night so here are some pictures of that as well!
I wanted to share with you guys where all of the different items came from so you can look them up if interested for a space in your home too! Note: some items we already had or were purchased at consignment shops so won’t be listed below. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions! Note #2: Blankets and pillows will not be in the crib once our sweet babe is sleeping in there, don’t worry!
